Many people have a misunderstanding about the nature of love.
Love is not a hormone response
to the sexuality of another.
Nor is it the momentary expansion
of one’s heart.
Love is beyond the physical
and is eternal in its nature.
All momentary experiences are
only glimpse of love,
which leave us longing to live
in its everlasting presence.
All pain is the separation that
occurs
because of the closing of our
hearts to love.
Our western society has lost
its connection to love
and forgotten how to live in
the love.
Materialism and desire, competition
and success
have replaced the deeper longings
of our hearts.
Even spirituality has become
a goal and an object of desire
as we long for more and more,
higher and higher, greater and greater.
What has happened to love, and
how can it return?
How can we move beyond desire
and groping for safety
into the radiance of love that
is our divine birthright?
And how can we end the pain
and suffering that exists within us, causing disease of the body and mind
individually
and the slow death of our planet
environmentally,
as we collectively play out
our inner disease
and our separation from love?
The answer must be found in love
itself.
For it is only love that embraces
all things,
only love that heals at the
deepest level of our beings,
and only love that will stop
the pillaging of our planet
and let it return to its natural
state of healing.
Yet what is love and how do we
discover it?
Many people confuse love with
the desire of the body
or the personality of another.
For others, love is obligation
and commitment,
an adherence to a lot of rules
about life
that are handed down from generation
to generation
without an intelligent observation
of the state of life
that results from these rules
and regulations.
Each person must move beyond
their mind’s ideas of love
into the deeper expression of
what love totally is.
Heart disease has become
one of the major causes of death
on the planet.
Yet heart disease is nothing
more than
our eternal longing for God
and love
becoming lost in one’s ideas
and desires.
There is no higher or lower
in love; no greater or lesser.
There is simply the radiance
and respect
for the existence of every atom
in the universe.
The rose does not yell at the
oak tree saying, “I’m prettier than you,” nor does the oak respond, “I’m
greater than you.”
No, each must have its own individuality.
Each must be respected for what
it is.
One must open to love to know
its peace.
One must dissolve in love to
discover its secrets.
One must taste love to heal
and know the unity of life.
Healing of the body can occur
only when the emotions and mind
are healed simultaneously.
Within all the healings I have
seen or done,
at the core was the absence
of love.
In its place were pictures which
the mind had made,
cutting off the connection which
love creates
to one’s soul and the divine.
Healing occurs only when one
is first willing to become aware
of these pictures and the pain
they carry,
and then release them through
the deep heart of love.
Love becomes the essence of
what we are,
the deepest expression of our
heart,
and the key to healing ourselves
and our planet.
So how do we find this love and
taste its delights
while healing our bodies and
our souls?
How do we move this love into
relationship
and merge with another
so that we can know these deeper
qualities of love?
There is a simple way.
It is not easy at first,
yet it ultimately offers a person
everything they need.
A person must slowly remember
the name of God on their breath.
With each inhalation God is
breathed in
and with each exhalation God
is breathed out.
Slowly the heart and the soul
become luminous with the breath
of God.
At first the personality or self
begins to dissolve.
This is both exhilarating and
frightening.
When one disappears into another
through sexuality,
this is like a prelude to one
disappearing into God.
One must give up one’s self
to love,
and then slowly one must give
one’s heart to love.
All the veils of desire and materiality
must be released
until the heart becomes transformed
into a radiance of white light
and purity.
Only then does love truly begin
to exist in one’s heart.
Even this state is known to
only a rare few.
Yet as one deepens one’s remembrance
of God,
committing oneself fully to
love
and becoming willing to dissolve
oneself completely,
the lumination of the soul becomes
known.
One begins to live in a world
of energy, light, and divinity.
Eventually even the soul disappears
into the love of God.
This final extinction of the
soul itself into God
becomes the foundation of the
true nature of love.
Now one begins to recognize
that
love is the ocean in which all
things exist, and
love is the essence of the creation
of all things.
Now one truly knows oneself as
One with all things.
Here peace and love and beauty
become the hallmarks of one’s life, and the soul’s freedom becomes the
ecstasy
with which we fly on the wings
of love.
This is the true nature of love.
It is beyond the heart and the
soul,
and lives within the reality
of God.
This love
is from where the peace that
surpasses all understanding emanates,
and is the way that all the
Prophets have spoken about
as they have guided humanity
back to God
through the heart and the true
love.
Learn to love in the deep and
true way,
and everything else will find
its correct place
and its correct understanding.
From here, all things can heal,
and love can guide the hearts
of humanity
back to the peace, the unity,
and the beauty.
