Ntabaruan lives in Kenya. She came to me in a dream a few years ago. I was trying to decide if I could make a long-term commitment to sponsoring a child through Childcare Worldwide. I wasn't getting a clear "yes" and decided to sleep on it and make up my mind in the morning. That night I had a dream and this beautiful child was in it, just smiling at me. I took it as a sign and the next day I sent in the papers to be a sponsor for whichever child they assigned to me, secretly wondering if it would be the child in my dream. When I finally received her picture, I cried. It was my dream-child and they told me she had been praying for a sponsor for quite awhile. I've felt a very close bond to her from the beginning. She enriches my life with her letters and drawings. I love getting copies of her report card and hearing what she would like to be when she grows up. Like most children, that changes as she grows. Right now she is toying with being a nurse or a teacher.
Ntabaruan has a large family and helps out with the younger children
after school. Since there is no running water, one way she helps her family
is by going down to the lake to fetch water every day. More about Ntabaruan

It is many years later as I write this and my dear Ntabaruan has graduated high school and is now enrolled in a trade school. I'm so very proud of her!
