The title for this collection came to me in meditation months ago. In my mind’s eye, I could see the cover clearly, but the pages inside were blank. I had no idea what the book would be about, but I did think the short title was a little strange. Just two letters. Be.One night, as I lay tossing and turning in bed, a voice inside me nudged me to get up and turn on the computer and start writing. Write what? It was 3 a.m. But I had been there before, knowing that if I trust my inner guidance, the next step will lead me in the right direction. I turned on the computer and closed my eyes and got into a meditative state to do the kind of automatic writing I do. It had evolved from a pencil to a typewriter to the computer. I see the words in my mind's eye and start typing. In a little while I go on automatic and don't have to see the words on my mental blackboard any more. Again I saw the cover of the Be book. This time the pages were not blank. The subject of this book began to express itself. I was surprised since all my books in recent years had been new age directories and all my play/work was spiritual networking of one kind or another.
During the last twenty-five years, I have voraciously devoured eclectic spiritual teachings in the form of books, workshops, correspondence courses, teachers, temples and tapes. In recent years, I added to this repertoire videos and self-help TV programs like Oprah Winfrey’s "Change Your Life" TV shows. With all the Virgo energy I could muster, I meticulously followed the instructions and rituals to attain the peak experience of each avenue I explored. I suspected, but did not know for sure, that all paths led to the top of the mountain, to that mystical union with the Divine we all so deeply crave.
I searched for the essence of the paths I explored, hoping I could distill them down to their lowest common denominator. My premise was that if all paths led to the One, then there must be a universal truth hidden in the teachings.
For the record, I don’t claim to be right, nor am I saying this is bedrock reality for all people, or for you. This is just what came up for me that I want to share with you in the event that it resonates deep inside of you in that place where you and I are one.
What I discovered to be one of the greatest mysteries of life, a way to live life in touch with spirit, to
create personal and planetary peace and happiness turned out to be so simple. It has been said so
many ways using millions of words, but its essence can be condensed down to two little letters.
B-E. Yes, be. Just be.Are you disappointed? Did you hope it would be more complicated, more esoteric, requiring you
to be other than you are right now in this very moment? I could be wrong, but deep inside I
believe this is the hidden message: Be. Can it be this simple? Is it really enough to just be, to just
live in the present moment where life is rich? I don’t know for sure. I do know this makes sense
for me. Perhaps it will for you, too, and it costs nothing to try. You don’t have to give up your
religion, join any group, do anything weird, or pay any money.I may not be the most eloquent writer you have ever read. However, I am one of the most
sincere (and modest). :) My spiritual growth is my life and if there is anything I can do to help you become more of who you really are, then I am grateful beyond words. And I am grateful beyond expression to All-That-Is, and to my personal source of inspiration that I call my Vaster Self. That said, I would like to share this compilation of messages about just “be-ing” written by a cross-section of beautiful people I have heard from.
With love from my heart to yours,

The point of power is in the present.
The only thing that's permanent is change.
